Wednesday morning, I got on a plane and landed in the heart of Helsinki where I got the opportunity to go to one of the most nostalgic venues in town, Nosturi. It was my first time at the venue and will probably be my last, because the place is shutting down, even after they searched diligently for almost eight years to find another location. This evening we were about to witness Moonsorrow with a very special show and the support band Swallow The Sun with an acoustic show. As I entered the venue, I was really surprised by its cozy size for that amount of people, since I've seen pictures and videos of the place, but that did not bother me at the least.

The four members took the stage that was already set-up with chairs and tables for one comfy acoustic live session. The band came on a little behind schedule but played for about 45 minutes. There were a few up’s and downs for me, about the fact that the support band thought that playing an acoustic show would be fitting. You could tell that there were some people in the crowd who enjoyed the show, and by that I did not mean that it was awful for me, but it didn’t seem to me like it was the right choice for the support band to start off with an acoustic set, before this very special show from Moonsorrow. Halfway through the show they played ‘New Moon’, which in my opinion was the only successful acoustic live song out of everything they played. The rest of the songs were really pushing the mood down with all the quiet and slow songs, which killed the mood a lot and I think it was the general feeling throughout the majority of the audience. It was my first time seeing them live and I would definitely see them again, but next time should be anything other than acoustic. There was some good vocal sound through the show, he was very powerful and intense in a certain way, like how he pronounced his words, made it sound like there was emotions bound to the song. Other than that, there was absolutely nothing mind-blowing about the show. It was fifty-fifty, half of the people seemed to watch and enjoy it and the other half were talking, looking on their phones seemingly uninterested. Sadly, you could really tell what the crowd was there for this Wednesday evening, and that was in no doubt Moonsorrow. For their last song they played a cover of ‘Your Decision’ by Alice In Chain, that ended on the exact words “It’s Over” and that was one funny way to end the show.

Swallow The Sun receives 2/6
With a break that you usually use for a bathroom break or getting some air, this was kind of different. At the very moment Swallow The Sun went off people stormed in, and since this was a sold out event there was so many people for such a small place that you went from standing with a lot of space between each other, to the point that you would almost step on top of each other's feet or touched someone’s butt if you wanted to lift your hands up in the air. Again, you could definitely tell what the main attraction for tonight was.
Pagan black metallers Moonsorrow took the stage, and from that very moment and until the very last second, they gave us this breathtakingly phenomenal special show. The opening song was ‘Ukkosenjumalan Poika’ which already showed the unusually or rather special setlist for the evening since they almost always open with ‘Pimeä’. Sadly, the sound was very low at the back of the venue and to get the full experience you had to be up front, which I managed to get up to about halfway into the show. Through the show they played ‘Haaska’ from their fourth album “Verisäkeet”, that they never played live before in Finland. For two hours they gave us an insane set with number after number that was just mind-blowingly performed with high energy from the stage that was felt all the way at the very back of the venue. This show was definitely golden for their hardcore fans that knew every word to every song, and those fans were there many of this evening. Even for first timers it was a show that was going to be talked about for a long time, it was simply incredible. The keyboards were extraordinary, with a sound that was so perfect that it gave the whole show a fantastic atmosphere.
