By Metal To GoIn 2017 they held the Kolovorot Nove Kolo which was an underground pagan black metal festival and last year they had to pay tribute to the French festival Ragnard, but now it was time for them to create their own festival brand, exactly Нове Коло also Metal East. This year will be the first for the festival and it will take place in Kharkiv, Ukraine from May 31st to June the 2nd.
This is more than just a festival, there is being created a unique and cultural event with all forms of human creativity in the historical, mythological and traditional representation of the European narrative through centuries. There will not only be art in a form of musical performances but also crafts, gastronomy, painting, photography, literature and much more. Let us light the fire of the past, like a torch in the dark!
Warm-up Show
A little over a month before the festival there will be held a warm-up show at Club Bingo in Kyiv, Ukraine and the date is April the 13th. For this show, Finnish Impaled Nazarene, Netherlands own Asphyx and the three Ukranian bands Burshtyn, Sectorial, and Mutanter will be performing for a price of only 21 Euros.

The atmospheric black metal project by Andy Marchall will be possible to experience at Metal East 2019. With their new album "Forgotten Paths" out the surroundings and the sound of SAOR will go hand in hand.

Archgoat
Since 1989 the Finnish death and black metal band Archgoat has released four full-length albums and numerous of EP's. After their return in 2004, the band has won the status of the most active European team in the area of blackened death metal. also known to many like goat, bestial or war metal. Some songs from their new album "The Luciferian Crown" will for sure be on the set during this show.
Sargeist
Ygg
Another Ukranian name was added to the festival. Ygg was formed in 2010 and created by active representatives of the Kharkiv metal scene, and they released their self-titled debut album "Ygg" in 2011. Last year they returned with their first concert so it will be one in a few to witness at this year's Metal East.

The first announcement of the festival was Hate Forest. The ambient black metal band that was formed in 1995 is reuniting for a single performance in their own hometown Kharkiv. This is going to be a special show and the fee for the show will be transferred to a fund to help children with cancer.

Bergrizen
For many years this one-man project was hidden in the Ukranian underground metal scene and now after over ten years of existence, he has created five full-length albums of both ambient and black metal. In 2015 the project played live for the first time. After listening to the project for a couple of years it is time for us and you to attend this show.

Sargeist
Late last year they released their fifth full-length album "Unbound" which was one of our top albums of 2018. The Finnish project was formed by Shatraug and in a short matter of time, they became a full-membered band with musicians from Behexen and Saturnian Mist. In 2014 all members left the band in addition to its leader and founder, but already in 2016, Shatraug announces new experienced musicians from other known projects. We will be witnesses to a new start of a new era of Sargeist.
Harakiri For The Sky
In 2011 this Austrian post-black metal band was formed. Every other year since then they have released an album, where they released their fourth album "Arson". The band has been touring a lot last year and now they will make their way to Metal East. Be ready to experience a beautiful sound that encounters rage and sadness.
Raventale
From Kyiv, Ukraine this one-man project by Astaroth Merc was formed in 2005. He has many impressive concerts and eight full-length albums of his atmospheric blackened metal and this year he will make his way to Metal East festival with a full range of musicians. Do not miss this.
Enthroned
Belgium's own black metal band Enthroned was created in 1993 by the drummer Cernunnos. They have had endless tours around the globe and numerous albums with their latest "Sovereigns" from 2014. If you wanna feel some horrible power of black metal this is it.
Severoth
This one-man project from Dnipro, Ukraine was created in 2007. In 2018 it became the year of its start of concert activities, with some the help of friendly musicians. With four absolutely breathtaking albums that are filled with grief, sadness, and life this will be our highest recommendation for Metal East 2019. This will take everything to a whole new level since the album has touched our souls so deeply, and to experience that live will be more than we could ever imagine. This atmospheric forest black metal is what every metal listener needs to experience.
Ajattara
Ajattara has a special place in the Finnish metal scene. The band was created by Pass Koskinen also known under the pseudonym Itse Ruoja Suruntuoja. Since 1996 they have been devoted to the dark side of the Finnish paganism with spirits and ghosts and for this year's festival, they will open this mysterious world for us.
Horna
This Finnish true black metal band has been active since 1993 and will be one of our highest recommendations for this year's festival. Since Bölzer had to cancel they got us something even better. With nine full-studio albums, there is no doubt that this will be on everyone's watching list.
Nokturnal Mortum
In their hometown, they will be performing for the first edition of Metal East. Their melodic, emotional and deep pagan black metal is not music but the proof that the spirits of our forgotten ancestors are still wandering among the dark forests and boundless steppes of this land. This is not to be missed!
Necrophobic
Melodic, death and black metallers from Sweden was formed in 1989 and belonged to a large group that laid the foundations of this genre in the early nineties. With endless concerts and albums on their side, they have shown us so much. And early last year they released one of our top albums of 2018 "Mark of the Necrogram". If you have not seen them live yet, this is your time!

Necrophobic
Necrom
This is a new name to the metal scene of Kharkov, a band created by experienced musicians of such as Nokturnal Mortum, Drudkh, Hate Forest and much more. The band was formed in 2018 and it was created of that simple reason to play death metal, and they have just released their debut EP "The Light Has Never Been Here" this year.Another Ukranian name was added to the festival. Ygg was formed in 2010 and created by active representatives of the Kharkiv metal scene, and they released their self-titled debut album "Ygg" in 2011. Last year they returned with their first concert so it will be one in a few to witness at this year's Metal East.
There are more bands on the poster but this is our recommendation.
