Kill-Town Death Fest VII - Our Recommendations!

By Metal To Go

The 7th edition of Kill-Town Death Fest is just one week away. With around forty bands on the line-up over 4-days, Pumpehuset in the heart of Copenhagen will be the mekka for death metal. There are announced acts from all over the world and the festival has outdone itself once again and sold out in no time.

As last year there are 3 stages:
Main Stage (600 cap)
Black Stage (400 cap)
Outdoor Stage (600 cap)
Which means that no shows are overlapping.

Do not forget to try out the festival collaboration beer with the local microbrewery Dry & Bitter, it is called "Decompomorphosis" and it ran out quickly last year. Be fast since there is a limited edition of 400 cans with 4.666& alcohol in each.

Thursday - September 5th

Who: Kever (IL)
Where: Black Stage
When: 17:00
Death metallers Kever from Isreal will be opening this year Kill-Town right in the heart of Copenhagen with their very first performance outside their homeland. Releasing their second EP "Primordial Offerings" late last year, really gives us an interesting idea of what we will be a part of this early Thursday next week. Over the last ten years, the four members have been a part of a lot of good released records, so let us see if they can bring that to live.

Who: Chthe'ilist (CAN)
Where: Main Stage
When: 18:00
All the way from Canada, these four guys decided to be a part of Kill-Town '19 with their first exclusive ever European performance. Founded back in 2010, the French Canadian death metallers have released some avant-garde dark technical releases, one of them their debut "Le dernier crépuscule" which was a pile of grotesque atmospheric and brutal fifty-three minutes. We want that out of that performance as well

Who: Corpsessed (FIN)
Where: Main Stage
When: 20:00
They are back! The Finnish Old school death metallers Corpsessed will be making their way to Kill-Town once again. In 2018 the band released their second full-length album "Impetus of Death" that turned out to be one of the best death metal announcements from last year, the album took their sound to another level and delivered with its heavy and brutality. We look forward to witnessing them on Danish grounds again.

Who: Suffering Hour (US)
Where: Black Stage
When: 23:00
Our most recommended corpses for this year's Kill-Town Death Fest will be these three guys from Minneapolis, that together with their blackened death metal will be playing their first Europa show in history. Their mysterious dark music has been formed into two EP's and their debut album "In Passing Ascension" that was released in 2017 has given us some extremely coarse vibes for this rare show next week.

Brutal death metallers Ignivomous was formed back in 2006 and has since then released some of the most inhuman, brutal music. Their 3rd upcoming album "Hieroglossia" is set to be released in two months' time so it would be obvious to release that raw beast at Kill-Town Death Fest.

Who: Mitochondrion (CAN)

Mitochondrion will return to Kill-Town Deat Fest next week. With their bizarre death metal sound. The band has some serious releases behind them and after the release of their debut album "Archaeaeon" they grow global attention. Tracking their new elements back in 2017 makes this presence something we look forward to after them being back in Europe after 5 years.

Who: Drowned (DE)
Where: Main Stage
When: 17:00
A band that has been around for almost 27 years, is the German death metal band Drowned that will return to Kill-Town Death Fest. They have released a bunch of demos followed up by their debut album "Idola Specus" which was published back in 2014 and turned out to be completely raw. The band is currently working on a future album, which makes this show rare for them to be performing this year.

Welcome to Necrovation's "come back" show. Back in 2008, they released their debut album "Breed Deadness Blood" and with their follow up "Necrovation" two years later which became a huge release in the death metal underground. You never know what to expect from them and that is the greatest mystery. This will be one of a kind show.

Sunday - September 8th

Who: The Dead Creed (GR)
Where: Outdoor Stage
When: 14:30
Another major booking this year for us will be the one-man death metal act The Dead Creed all the way from Greece. He will be a part of the "Gloomy Sunday" concept while playing his acoustic and atmospheric releases. His project is definitely one of a kind, that could easily sound like a 3-4 piece band, and therefore, it would be one big thing to miss. We recommend getting up early to be a part of his long European tour.

Pieces... To Heal A Soul In The Darkest Hour

Who: Tchornobog (US)
Where: Main Stage
When: 16:00
The bad news did bring us excellent news this time. As a replacement for Ra Al Dee Experience, the one-man project Tchornobog or 'Black God' in Ukraine has been brought in. He is on his first European tour this year as he bursts into the metal underground with his mixture of blackened death metal and progressive elements, which he will be bringing us as the second act for the "Gloomy Sunday" concept.

Who: Anatomia (JP)
Where: Main Stage

Anatomia is back at Kill-Town Death Fest for their second time and was one of the reasons why the festival started. Since 2002 the band has released numerous of doom and death metal offerings that we cannot wait to experience once again. This performance will be the first time with the new line-up, let us see if some of their new materials are in their sleeves as well.

Who: Abysmal Dimensions (US)
Where: Black Stage

Special announcements are something the festival is well known for and this will be jet another one when these four guys will be presenting their material for the first time ever live. And since they never did a real recording or release this will be interesting to hear their mysterious sound.

Kill-Town Death Fest Promo

Who: Coffins (JP)
Where: Main Stage
When: 24:00
Closing of Kill-Town Death Fest '19 will be the legendary doom/ death metal band Coffins from Japan. Formed back in 1996 they have a ton of strongly torturing releases behind them which only means this performance will be deeply remembered. We sure hope for some new material from the upcoming album that is set to be released on the 20th of September.
