March 29th, yet again we took a small trip across the pond to visit Kulturbolaget in Malmö. The evening was all about, some of the best rock and roll bands that Sweden represents. Backyard Babies has just released their new album "Silver and Gold" which is about time since it has been four years since the last one. We’ve waited long enough! With them, they brought the Stockholm-based-band Satan Takes A Holiday, also known as STAH. Together they are on the European “Nordic Noir Tour” that has forty-two stops over a couple of months and celebrates the 30-year anniversary of Backyard Babies.
As something new for the many joyful concert lovers in Copenhagen, new eventmakers have started up and gives the people some easy and social rides to the next big event. The online meeting place and community Club Dark has begun to arrange events, which we were able to experience with a drive from the local metal bar Voodoo Lounge and dropped off right in front of Kulturbolaget, Malmö. With the pre-party at the bar and the small sight of people going to the concert, it turned out to be quite a few. As one stood and waited for the bus to come, a rather infamous young woman came which turned out to be the coach's guide, we came aboard and were served what was supposed to be a "Club Dark beer" which turned out to be a Green Tuborg. Before entering the bus everyone got an envelope where you could be the lucky winner of merchandise.

As we arrived we only had a few minutes before the band entered the room. The stage was ready and so was the audience that you could tell was there for the headliners. Three men took the stage with their goldish shinny face-paint and some snus in their pockets, it could not have been more Swedish. Everything about them just said Sweden, from the vocalist to the drums that changed colors just like another Swedish band Mustache, to the outfit they were wearing. The sound was so bad on the left side so the experience of moving to the right side was just incredible, such a difference. The music was catchy and they made the crowd clap along which was quite funny cause if we think back at this show we cannot look away from the fact of how many times they said the word "Woohoo".

They took the stage and looked like they have not aged a bit since last time, everything looked like it used to and it was good to see them again. All throughout the show, the audience was having one hell of a party, singing along and having fun with friends and enjoying their Friday night out. The sound of sex was operated into the setlist which contained new and old classics like 'Minus Celsius', 'People Like People Like People Like Us' and the opening track 'Good Morning Midnight' from the new album "Silver And Gold". Even though it was already satisfying, it got even better when the frontman Nicke Borg took his acoustic guitar and gave us that side of the show as well. Compared to the support, there were no sound issues only good old memories in mind. Even the show was not sold-out, the venue was packed.
After a good evening, the bus picked us up and headed towards the after-party at the metal bar Voodoo Lounge where two beers were included in the tickets, but the deal with the bar must have gone lost since there was none. Since it was the first event for Club Dark, there is room for a lot of improvement, but there’s a first time for everything.
