Another exciting package was about to take over Amager Bio this Monday night. With Amorphis still being on their Queen of Time tour, they are now ready for Copenhagen, Denmark which is their fourth stop on the tour that has thirty stops all over Europe. Along with them they brought Soilwork, Jinjer and Nailed To Obscurity.

It is my first time back in Amager Bio since their opening a couple of weeks ago after their reconstruction. Of course, there was a lot of things that needed to be done for the place to look newly renovated but there was nothing wrong with the venue that made it difficult for these bands to hit the stage this cold Monday night. Four acts were up and it was definitely a mixed bag, but since every band besides Amorphis just released some new material there was a lot of new stuff to be presented.

As the doors opened only 15 minutes before the first band was going to hit the stage, it was kind of sad to see that many people standing in line to the wardrobe while Nailed To Obscurity was opening.
Nailed To Obscurity just released their fourth album "Black Frost" a little over a week ago, which their entire set was based on besides their closing number "Desolate Ruin". With not much time on their hands, they managed to give an extraordinary show. They had a great deal of vivacity and passion in their performance that for sure was missing from the crowd during this show.

The Ukranian metalcore band Jinjer also released their new EP "Micro" a couple of days ago which contains three songs that all was played this evening. As they took the stage I could almost not recognize their frontwoman Tatiana Shmaylyuk cause she seemed to have changed a lot since their performance at BETA, Copenhagen late last year. There was a lot of fans in the crowd that for sure was eighter engulfed in Tatiana with her very distinctive way of moving on stage as if she was practically dancing or where going crazy for the music. Sadly every clean vocal sounded inauthentic and false and in the end, with them even being the most brutal band tonight it all just appeared to sound very monotonous.

Swedish Soilwork just released their eleventh album "Verkligheten" that came out the same day as the other two releases. A band that I used to hear a lot back in the days, but I always missed the opportunity to see them on stage, and I was glad that I did see them this evening, cause they surprised me in a good way. During the show, they had a very mixed but well thought of setlist. There was a lot of classics like 'Death in General' from the "The Ride Majestic" album, some numbers from their 2013 "The Living Infinite" album and a bunch of new once like their opening song 'Arrival', 'Stålfågel' which sounded terrible compared to how his voice had been spot on the rest of the show and their new music video track 'Witan'. One could really see that they had fun on stage and that there was a good atmosphere around them as a band, and the audience was enjoying themselves. There was a lot of sing-a-long and you could tell which songs the audience wanted to hear. But after all, it got tedious and uninteresting cause the whole show was monotonously and nothing really happened that caught your eyes to be talked about.

Amorphis was the only band on the tour that did not have a new release out. The latest is their "Queen of Time" album from early 2018. This was still their Queen of Time tour so the setlist was exactly the same as my last visit with them at Wacken Open Air 2018. The only difference was that there was added three more songs for this show. The energy from the crowd was massive and there was such a good connection between the stage and the audience. Songs like 'Wrong Direction' and 'Death of a King' was played just like on the record which was much better than their festival show. Sadly people stormed out during the last two songs, but those who stayed really had a phenomenal time.
