Label: Indie Recordings

For a long time, metal music has been around with all kinds of sub-genres. But let us talk about pagan metal which is one of those sub-genres that fuses integrate extreme metal with a specific culture or region through unique instruments, austere melodies or thematic approaches that indicates to black metal or folk metal. The case is that pagan metal did expand a whole lot over the past decade but in the end, it is still all the original bands that release the most long-lasting music. Moonsorrow, Primordial, Arkona and the current reviews matter Kampfar which are all bands that take a big role in this genre.
"Syndefall" opens the album and the listener is embraced by multi-screams. One is greeted by a classic Kampfar intro with an upbeat tempo that together with the vocal is evident in its texture, it gives an immense opening of Ofidians Manifest.
The songs continue to grow and evolve into more the longer you invade, which gives the listeners a thrill that makes it interesting to pursue. Through the 39 minutes one is taken through, the new release has a mix of previous releases and a whole new vision in its sound. The middle number "Natt" gives a huge compliment to the entire album, it has the right tempo with the way the vocals are shaped and the chaotic drums are screwed together, giving whole new energy which is also easy for the listeners to join in. It is a huge number and the album is filled with moments like this. Therefore I've asked the drummer Ask a few questions about this masterpiece of another album.
The vocals are very defined in their music and play a huge role in the overall look. Dolk's balanced vocals and the mix of the two guest vocalists are truly adding a texture that feels intensely lavishing and majestic to form the adventure that makes this release stands out compared to previous ones. Like, Ask so easily describes it, that both songs are better for it, but also the composition of the whole album. Speaking of "Eremitt" that in this case also got an outstanding choir in the middle of the track that almost got that Finnish sound and inspiration to it, that gives the solid pagan sound that is wanted.
With this being their 8th album out, many may have set a high standard for them. Looking at previous releases there has always been extensive progress and Ofidians Manifest just proofs that they will always evolve within their music and stick to their roots and true selves. The tracks compliments each and other to a mind-blowing level and overall every instrument is once again breathtakingly written.
